IARS research projects on Restorative Justice
IARS is currently working on two research projects. The first, "RJ &
sexual offending in the Catholic Church" looks into how restorative justice
may be used to construct theoretical and practical paradigms that could be used
to address sexual offences that occurred within the Catholic Church. This
is a topic that currently occupies the interest of many policymakers,
practitioners and theoreticians in the field and of course of the Catholic
Church and the victims that these cases involved.
The second research project, "RJ & Identity"
concerns questions around the nature and identity of restorative justice as
a theory and as a practice. One of the objectives of the project
is to contribute to the discussion around the use and meaning of RJ in a
criminal justice context by providing original data to advance the
knowledge in the field.
IARS would like to hear from anyone who
finds these projects interesting, especially from other researchers,
practitioners or theoreticians in the field, policymakers or funding bodies.
